An Online Class – Setting The Limits

Tears, Tantrums, and Other Trying Behaviors

Are you tired of power struggles with your child? Are you at a loss as to how to handle her tantrums, aggression, or whining? Do you worry about going out in public with him—dreading the supermarket isle meltdown?

Some of the most trying times for parents are a child’s most passionate emotional moments. And summer time can be tough as we vacation with our children, find that we’re home alone with them more often, or take them to visit family and friends. Their difficult behaviors can flare during these times.

But, what if I told you there was a simple way to overcome the biggest challenges you have with your child?

This three-week course will give you all the tools you need to transform your parenting and your family.

In this class, you’ll get a fresh take on what tantrums are, why they occur, and how to respond so your child’s resilience grows. You’ll learn how to set limits in a way that actually builds closeness and cooperation. And you’ll learn how to reduce family stress and how to be less reactive to your children.

You’ll also walk away with:

♦  An understanding of why your child “loses it” over the littlest things; and,

♦  Information about the science behind crying and its surprising benefits.

The longer we wait to reduce our own stress and help our children with their challenges, the more entrenched they become. Join me in August. I’ll help you get through the rest of the summer and implement strategies in your family that will last you a lifetime.

There are two options in August for this course:

One is an in-person, free, three week series at Bananas (a parent resource and referral agency in Oakland, California) beginning August 4, 2015 at 6:30pm.

Cost:      $190

*This class is designed for parents and caregivers of children one to twelve.

“Every week, I witnessed improvements and aha-moments as I implemented exercises and new ideas from the class into my daily life with my 4 year-old son. I think a big part of the success of the class was the way that Julie held the space for our group—I felt so safe there.  It was definitely something special.”
